\nnot bones, but unfinished gestures,
\nmeals half-imagined,
\nsentences waiting for your voice.
\nThe corridor stretches longer than before.
\nTime does not stop;
\nit only widens,
\nleaving room for what will never return.
\nEven the clock seems hesitant,
\nticking as if unsure
\nwhether it has the right
\nto keep going.
\nI move through the day carefully,
\nas one crosses land after fire\u2014
\nnot to disturb what still smolders
\nbeneath the surface.
\nAt dusk, silence gathers weight.
